Once more this comes up...

I still find sort-by-date with threading less than useful as it stands –
mostly fine, but if you've left articles unread then it becomes useless since
it's not trivially possible to see which threads are most recently added to;
I have to switch off threading to see what's most recent.

If the sort uses the most recent in each thread, it immediately becomes much
more useful since the most recently-changed thread is first (or last,
depending on sort direction).
