Locking layout in the "Group" window pane

We seem to find it too easy here to inadvertently drag folders within the
Groups pane so that they disappear within other folders.

Could it be possible to make a simple way of "locking" the layout of this
pane to prevent this from happening?

It would need to be a simple "on/off" button so that it would be relatively
easy to turn the lock off when you wanted to make deliberate changes to the
layout.
