Change of package manager...

From:Zed Date:5 Apr 2013 07:16

I am currently using Gemini v2.29 on SolusOS, which is based on Debian
Stable and uses the Debian package manager.

The developer of SolusOS has indicated that in the next version he will be
using PiSi (developed by the Pardus distribution team) as the package
manager.

Once this is done, I see issues with my continued use of Gemini, unless
someone knows of a way to overcome the difficulties which I think will arise
by the change.

Of course, I could change to a distribution which still uses Debian as a
base or one which uses RPM but I don't really wish to do so.

So, two questions:

(1) Is it possible to download the Gemini source code and install?

(2) Does anyone know whether there is an application which would allow me to
convert a Pisi package to deb? Something like Alien which converts RPM to
deb.
