MessengerPro Crash

Replies: Re: MessengerPro Crash (Tony Moore)

I suffered a major crash yesterday with MessengerPro, and have spent a
good part of today trying to get it back to its former state. The
crash seems to have left the message files themselves intact (i.e.
those in !Newsdir.MsgServe.Spool), but a number of other files became
corrupted (including !Newsdir.MsgServe.Groups). Unfortunately, before
I realised, my system backed up the !Newsdir in its post-crash state
(!), so the easy solution wasn't available.

Using an earlier backup I have managed to recreate the pre-crash
state, except for one thing. Yesterday, before the crash, I'd created
a new archive group, the contents of which are in
!Newsdir.MsgServe.Spool, and therefore haven't been lost. However,
because this group wasn't listed in the in the backup I rebuilt from
(i.e. it wasn't listed in the !Newsdir.MsgServe.Groups file), I have
had to re-create this archive group. The new group, of course, shows
as empty. So my question is "how do I transfer the data
in the !Newsdir.MsgServe.Spool folder to this new group?".
