Self-inflicted filter problem.

Replies: Re: Self-inflicted filter problem. (Richard Porter)

This was a real senile moment, but I wonder if MPro's behaviour maybe
might have compensated for it.

I had renamed one of the incoming mail boxes in MPro, but had
forgotten to modify the relevant filter to tell it the new name of the
box. I did "View mail on server" in Hermes, and saw that there was a
message belonging to this box. When I downloaded the messages there
was no sign of this message.

I looked in !NewsDir.MsgServe.Backup.Mail, and the message was in
there (together with its 2MB pdf attachment!), and was able to import
it into the relevant box, and then finally got round to modifying the
filter.

Would it be practicable for MPro to be modified so that, if the box
named in the filter didn't exist, it should be created? I thought that
this might happen anyway, but nothing relevant is mentioned in the
Help file.

I know this was all my fault, but if people think that this is a
reasonable idea, I might contact RComp about it, suggesting it might
be a bug.

Best wishes,

Peter.
