"strip attachments" marks message as read

Select a few individual messages in a group listing and use the menu 
to "strip attachments" from them.

WHY does MPro then also mark thse messages as "read"?

This happens in certain groups but not others.  Can't figure out why.

Using MPro 7.06 but it happened in earlier versions too.
