Deleting Search Folder

I had done a search on date, selected all the search results and was 
trying to strip attachments before archiving tthe messages. This 
resulted in !NewsDir crashing and leaving filecore in use. No 
alternative but to reboot.

Now I hve a folder Search.Search1 which contains pointers to around 
300 messages. If I delete one of these aliases it deletes the original 
message. I'm concerned that if I delete the folder it could delete all 
the messages it points to.

The spool directory for Search.Search1 just contains an Overview file 
and a Group file. I guess I could get rid of it the messy way by 
clearing out the Overview file and deleting the now empty folder, but 
is there a safer way?
