peculiar Message ID

Replies: Re: peculiar Message ID (Brian Howlett)

Hi,
I have just had 3 failed attempts to send a 'news' item to a c.s.a.
group. The message is returned from the server because of 'failure to
decode Message ID'.

I looked at the Message ID, and it is, indeed, odd. It goes something
like: <number>.Philip@administrator@<my Demon domain name>.co.uk
Presumably those two '@'s cause confusion.

I don't send items to the newsgroups all that often, but I've never
had this problem before.

Does anyone understand it.

(For those who don't know the Demon system, ones 'user name' and also
ones 'host name' as entered into various places in MPro is
administrator@... even though in my case my email
address is as below. In practice email sent to
anything@... will arrive. It looks as if MPro is
misinterpreting the system somehow.)
