UTF-8 editing

A correspondent just sent me an email that included one word in Greek 
which was displayed correctly by MPro. So my MPro Choices->Display 
settings-> both fonts DejaVu.Serif has some effect.

But on replying, the EmailEdit couldn't cope, despite (1) its 
Message->Choices.. Fonts also specifying DejaVu.Serif and (2) MPro 
Choices->Message editing having UTF8 editing ticked.

Have I missed a vital extra setting, or is UTF-8 support in MPro's 
Editor precluded by that lack of UTF-8 support in the Wimp?
