Newsdir on NAS?

Would it be feasible to locate my live !Newsdir on network-attached 
storage?

!Netfetch would still run on one of my Ro machines.  That would 
probably be the Armini.  Currently Netfetch is on the Iyonix, which 
has begun to show the familiar first sign of power-supply 
unreliability: networking decides without consultation that it doesn't 
want to play any more today.

I understand that I could have Messenger run on several machines on 
the network and access the mail and news stored in !Newsdir.  Haven't 
yet worked out what wrinkles might be involved, though.
