Messenger (hermes?) stuck

Replies: Re: Messenger (Hermes?) stuck (Kevin Melling)

My setup is not to delete messages from my ISP (Plusnet) and also tosave read messages into a read folder away from my inbox.

But messenger or hermes has now got itself stuck or in some endless loop.

The other day it decided to download every email from the server - about 3000.

Now it keeps downloading and never finishes sorting them. The pointer moves but when the spam checklist of messages appears I can't click anything. I lose control of the computer (pi) for a hours.

It's all mess really I'd be happy to lose the contents of my inbox but can't see how. Tidy etc does nothing.

Sometimes I alt-break to get control back. The inbox index is then corrupt.

Any clues how to get it back again please?

Many thanks,
Kevin Melling
