Eh? You can set an expiry time on the waste basket. I think the
default is 3 days but you can make it longer. Also you don't need to
expire old messages automatically. I find it annoying if, while I'm
working on something at midnight, MPro suddenly starts expiring
messages. I prefer to do it manually via the icon bar menu (Utilitues
> Expire old groups) when it's convenient.
As a backstop, if you've deleted a message and it's expired you might
still be able to find it in the backup directory. In my case it's
<POPstar$Dir>.MailDir.spool.mail.backup . NB it needs purging from
time to time. I don't know what the equivalent is for Hermes.
