Waste basket oddity

Replies: Re: Waste basket oddity (Brian Howlett)

I asked this some time ago, but answer came there none, and the oddity
has just happened again. I start the machine up, do "View mail in
server" in Hermes, weed out the obvious spam and download the
messages. I run MPro, and the waste-basket icon is open, meaning that
something should be in it. I look for what it is, and on occasion
there's nothing there. Obviously I can't empty out what isn't there,
and the only was of closing the basket is to quit and re-run MPro.

I find this mildly annoying, but can't think why it may have happened.
I do have a few Hermes filters which delete unseen messages from known
spammers, and Hermes keeps a log of the sender and subject of these
deleted messages, but when the waste-basket oddity happens is never
when one of these messages has been deleted unseen. I wondered if that
could be the explanation, but it certainly isn't.

Any ideas, anyone, why this might happen?

Best wishes,

Peter.
