Display oddity

I'm using MPro 8.02 (25-Apr_2019) on RISC OS 5.25, RComp version, 
(24-Aug-18).

As I have a huge number of groups in the main window I have it set by 
default to see only the groups with unread emails visible, and go to the 
"All" setting as and when I need.

However, there seem to be two varieties of what MPro seems to think of as 
unread. When I first open the window there are a lot more groups visible 
than there are when I close and reopen the window. Just now there were 22 
groups visible to start with, and then 13 when I closed the window and 
reopened it. I've posted two screenshots at:

It's only an oddity, but I wonder if anyone can tell me why this happens?
