I use the Mac version of Messenger Pro, and that's all good. Prompted by
concerns raised here I tried my luck with a Windows 10 1709 install of
2.72.5, using the gemini data folder copied from the Mac, and that's all
good too.

On the Mac I always preserved the old version by renaming it before
installing the new, just to be able to easily revert if necessary.

Messenger Pro is only used with POP3 here, some time ago I did try IMAP but
that was with Plusnet which didn't trouble itself with SSL.

It has been a long time here too, both Messengers are just so right for
handling RISC OS mailing lists and usenet, but I do also use Apple Mail for
the real world.
