Bad input for module Squash

I've received an email with some attached JPEGs, but when I double-click
on the mail in the incoming mail list, nothing happens; when I try to
move to it from the adjacent mail in the list by clicking an arrow
button, an error box comes up with "Bad input for module Squash".

What's gone wrong, how do I fix it?  Where is that email stored on the
hard drive?

Reparing the incoming mail group makes no difference.

MPro 7.08 (15-Feb-2015), RO 5.25 (20-Apr-18), BBxM.
