Well, don't use a DTP program to look at mails... (Sorry.)
Does the mail contain HTML? I find HTML rendering is very slow, but does
finally complete if you wait long enough. OTOH I'd have expected 'view
headers' or 'view source' to work ok.
If you export the mail to a plain text file, then make copies of it with
successively smaller and smaller bodies, and perhaps some of the headers
removed, can you isolate which part of its content causes the problem?
