You should be backing up the data frequently anyway...

With both Gemini & MP, updating the app has no effect on the data folder.
It's just the same process as doing a regular update to Gemini, indeed many
of the settings in the registry will still say Gemini in them after MP has
been installed.  (So don't go wild with a registry cleaner and remove all
the references to "Gemini"!)
