Colouring URLs and making them clickable?

Theo gave some examples of URLs which had what I assume are Cyrillic, some
form of Chinese, and Greek characters in them. None were highlighted or
clickable. I /was/ able to c&p them out of the news post and into Firefox
and they did work ok.
I don't know if they'll display properly in this email, but they were:
http://президент.рф/ - cyrillic?
http://东奥教育在线.ä¸å›½/ - chinese
http://ΜαÏκετος.gr/ - greek
Is there anything that can be done to make MP see these as URLs?
