Well your headers say you're using Gemini 2.29f; I'm using MessengerPro
2.68. something. There's been a lot of fixes inbetween. You can look at
the summary of what changed at each release and see if anything described
matches your experience.

In MP, and I think in Gemini too, if you turn on logging of the mail fetch
accounts the logs will actually contain a copy of every mail that is
fetched. You may be able to extract from the logs a copy of what hasn't
shown up in a folder, and possibly see anomalies in those mails.

If you expect to use logs like this you will need to set their max sizes
very large (I've set mine to 122 MB) so that when one fills and gets renamed
to log.old, there's time to archive that before the new rapidly-filling log
gets too big and is renamed to log.old and overwrites the earlier one. In
MP log size limits are set in Options -> Transfers.

I run a program (an ooREXX script) once a minute (as a scheduled task) that
looks for and archives both the app global- and account- log.old files.

I have a separate program which I run manually at the end of a day when I
shut down MP that archives log and log.old files whatever their size, before
I then make a daily backup of the whole of MP's data files.
