I've "sort of" experienced this, or perhaps something very similar, on a
couple of occasions - however, when it happened I just quit (in my case)
Messenger Pro and launched it again, and then the messages in question
opened as normal.
I think I did that pretty much as a reflex action, and didn't even stop to
wonder why it happened in the first place - so much so that it didn't even
register as a problem until I read your post.

Hmmm. But... Messenger Pro 2.70.something. Although, what happened here and
what happened for Alan could be totally unrelated.
