Thank you for your prompt response. I havenow installed v2.71.1.3867 x64
and it is working well.

I really shouldn have taken more notice of the downloads.  At the time I
upgraded from Gemini I was using SolusOS, based on Debian.  When I went
back to Mint "Olivia",  I "assumed" things would be the same. Clearly not
thinking straight!
