At the moment such validation requires an opt-in from the domain owner.
Records are added to the DNS that list the mail servers allowed to send mail
from that domain and the policy to take with mail that doesn't appear to
come from one of those servers. Yahoo has done exactly that so mail from
Yahoo addresses can now only be sent via Yahoo mail servers.

This will only become an issue for other domains if the administrators of
those domains also add their own DNS records to restrict which servers can
send mail from those domains. If you're the domain owner and you add no such
records then you shouldn't have any problem with your mail being rejected as
the default is to accept all mail if no records exist. Anybody whose email
requirements are sufficently advanced so as to need to be able to send mail
through other mail servers should really register themselves a domain so
they have full control over such policies.

MPro can actually do this. Each account can have a default identity
associated with it which tells MPro to use that account for mail sent from
that identity. What's missing of course is that you can't have more than one
identity linked to an account - what's really needed is an option in the
identity to point it toward a particular account rather than the other way
around.

For anybody using a domain that has such a restrictive policy in place,
sadly this will be the case, but it shouldn't affect people who register
their own domains unless they explicitly implement their own policy.
