News works on Thunderbird quite happily relaying from my RiscPC, and
from memory it also work ok on Messenger Pro for Windows, though I do
not have it set up at present for News. I can send mail from
Thunderbird or M-Pro for Windows just not receive, as I said before,
the subscription list does not populate.
