Assuming we are talking POP3 then NetFetch can be set to leave 
messages on the server. I have used this with multiple 
NetFetch/MessengerPro installations on assorted RPCEmu installations.

NetFetch -> Choices -> Emailboxes ; Select account name(s) ; -> 
Fetching.
