Actually, it wasn't DejaVu, it was UniFont.
Yes, I found that empty list of fonts too, but if you go to
http://www.armini.co.uk/downloads.shtml and sign in (password needed)
to the relevant software page, you'll find a directory called "fonts",
and DejaVu and UniFont are both in there. NetSurf had no problem with
the UniFont zip.
