and when MPro displayed Jim's posting here the offending character had
become cap-A-tilde followed by cap-A-circumflex followed by paragraph
mark.
As I don't have, and normally don't want, a mail client that uses
HTML, I seldom risk putting any top-bit-set characters in emails. When
I do I usually include an explanation for the recipient(s) of what
those characters are supposed to look like.
