That probably relates to the 77 objects limitation, in earlier versions
of the OS.

Good that it worked for you, but I'd be rather nervous about manually
deleting database files. I don't know when MsgServe accesses the files
in the 'backup' directory but it must keep a record of what it has
written there, so that the records can be trimmed from time to time.
There could be a problem if MsgServe looks for a deleted file.

I wonder if Peter has tried 'Rebuild ID index', accessed from MPro
Choices > Group management, then menu over the window > Utilities.
