Well I've delved into !NewsDir a few times but mainly to recover spool
files. The address books seem to be fairly straightforward. Just use
your favourite text editor to find and replace the address in
question.
The public address book is <NewsDir$Dir>.Messenger.AddrBook01
The private address books are <NewsDir$Dir>.UserHome.<user>.AddrBook01
Distribution lists are in DistLists in the above directories.
I can't say that I understand !NewsDir by a long chalk, but I can have
a dig around and make observations.

I don't want a "user experience" - I just want stuff that works.
