All sorted now, thanks to Andrew R!

What we found as a result of Andrew's input is that (a) the phantom
smtp.gradwell.co.uk was generated by MPro, not NetFetch and was ignored by NF
anyway, so that wasn't the cause of my spam problems, and (b) they weren't
*my* spam problems anyway, but were issues that Orpheus was facing, so
(c) I didn't need to upgrade either of the applications, after all!

Oh well, Andrew's got a well-earned few quid, I've got some shiny new
software and I no longer feel guilty for the fact that I was using 2008
vintage software and not supporting RISC OS folk.

So all's well that ends well.
