AFAICT it doesn't; I checked before making making my reply. ;)
It appears to work the same way, but it does display HTML emails much better.
In my case at least, because I'm using VRPC, I send all mine to Firefox. So I
don't know how well they are displayed locally in Netsurf, for example.
