Errors in old !NewsDir
Some years ago, to keep the size of !NewsDir down, I occasionally made a
copy, deleted everything up to a certain date from the working copy and
deleted everything after that date in the other copy, which I then saved
in a new directory. When I want to access the old stuff I run an Obey file
which unsets some OS variables and resets them to point to the old
!NewsDir.
That has normally worked OK, but today when I loaded my 2009-2010 !NewsDir
and tried to open one of the Groups I got a Not Found for the relevant
Overview file.
I then ran !GroupChck, which reported loads of discrepancies: see the
appended output.
I tried Messenger > Choices > Group management > Repair, but that doesn't
see those that are "not in groups" and for some that it can see it gives
an error that it can't open Spool.x.y.z.IndexV2
