What does the sending-account's log show?  Is it possible that the data is
being sent but Gemini is waiting forever for some response from the ISP?

Is send being done under SMTP or IMAP?   Gemini/MP change history info shows
fixes to IMAP send in Control-character handling, at V2.56a:
