It ocurred first in the version we were running which was pre-2.69.2 (but I
can't be sure of the version number because I couldn't access help>about
messenger pro (it froze).

I tried upgrading first to 2.69.3 and then 2.69.4 but still the same
problem. I then (at Andrew Rawnsley's suggestion) reverted to 2.69.2 and it
was with this that we got the program working again by renaming Groups.

I was not present when the problem first started but I think it was while
trying to open a message that had been successfully opened previously.

At one point the computer reported not enough memory to run the application
(it has 4 GB) and then we noticed that there were multiple (up to 10) copies
of the MPro envelope in the Notification Area and the Task Manager reported
multiple copies of MPro running but not responding.

I'd rather not try to reproduce the fault again!

At one point the program successfully downloaded further messages (it's set
to on start up) but as soon as you try to click on any menu (File/Edit/View
etc) or any Group or Message it started to hour-glass.

I have a feeling that one of the configuration files became corrupted and
running an empty version caused the Config to be re-written. Everything is
perfectly stable this morning (fingers crossed :}X ) and the program seem
faster and more responsive than the version we were using before (sorry I
can't tell you what that was).

Thanks for your response and I hope the above might give a clue but at least
I now know a way out. I wonder if any other listers have experienced
similar?

Chris
