Import is supported, but the format might not match - ie one might need to
tweak it.  If you install the trial version of Messenger Pro (it's not been
branded Gemini for ages now) you can experiment.

Yes, if you mean the line in the viewer that shows all of a set of messages.
I do this quite a lot.

Do you mean things like replacing "me" by "Jeremy Nicoll" (or whatever) as
you type?  I'm not sure, certainly I've never done it.

On the other hand if you mean changing the content of incoming messages as
they arrive, one can do that in a three stage process:

  - divert certain incoming files as they arrive, to an external file
  - ran some external process (perhaps monitoring that external file)
    to change the stuff in it
  - ran a 'fetch' (perhaps on a timed basis) that reads content from
    a specified external file

(For various reasons it's better that the file that MP writes stuff to is
not the same one that the fetch fetches from, but that's a detail.)  I've
tested the principle involved here but not yet written the code I plan to
actually do the message-specific editing.
