I've tried that (or the right click context menu) and the changes don't
stick, several extra mouse clicks each time. I'm using XP on most machines
but I have windows 7 on my laptop which hasn't as yet got MPro on it.

I've shorcuts to most important locations on the desktop. Unfortunately they
tend to disapppear down the list of other files and directories. I've never
managed to fathom out the order in which they appear, and changing the sort
doesn't appear to stick.

I regularly use those facilities, and particularly the Desktop special
location, but it's also a lot of extra faffing about.

Some programs don't allow you to change from the default unfortunately. They
are a right pain!

I've now got drag and drop to work, but can't understand why it didn't
before. perhaps I have an errant program somewhere. I've deleted one program
since originally posting which may be the culprit, or perhaps it's MS Office
which I haven't run in this session. Time will tell.

Thanks for your response.
