Works fine here in in 7.06.  Singleclick, though, not double.

Ah, are you talking about a link in an INCOMING message (which is what 
I mean above) or in a message that you are WRITING?

If it's a message you are writing, then you have to CTRL-click.  That 
obviously is to allow you to edit the link you are writing; in this 
situation you have to add the CTRL to launch it.
