fluke: mailinglist shows as a newsgroup
I wanted to rename the folder containing one of my mailinglists (the
Iyonix one, as it happens).
The usual menu option "Rename ..." is greyed out because this "group"
is a mailinglist.
So I created a new folder with the new name. Then went to the
"Configure > Mailinglist" dialogue, selected the Iyonix entry, chose
Edit, and for Folder selected my new one from the dropdown list. The
new folder is now a mailinglist.
(I will need to make the relevant adjustment in "Configure >
Filtering rules".)
So far so good.
The old mailinglist folder I would have expected* to become an
ordinary folder. But, strangely, it appears in my "Main groups" list
now among NEWSGROUPs, with the newsgroup icon (and with "Rename" still
greyed).
I can't work out why it has become a newsgroup. How do I turn it back
into an ordinary folder?
I imagine this status is stored in an internal file somewhere that I
could tweak manually, but I have no idea where.
Anybody come across this fluke before?
( * I tried this procedure again just now on another mailinglist, and
it DID become an ordinary folder as I would have expected with the
Iyonix one.)
