distribution lists

Can someone explain how to set up distribution lists in MPro, please? 
(I'vew done this before but so long ago I've forgotten and the 
StrongHelp 'Info' doesn't seem to tell the whole story.

I've tried to add a name to the address list (using Distribution 
Lists>New) but the name doesn't appear (?yet) in the ordinary address 
list.

It does appear, though, in Distribution Lists>Edit/View. Clicking on 
it produces a blank window, as expected, but attempts to drag a text 
file (prepared separately in !Edit) does not enter the addresses.
