The latest version is 7.08 so you may be able to download an update
from !Store if you've registered Messenger with it.

You can if you click Adjust on the close window icon a few times, but
you'll need to know the AddrBook file format.

Not as far as I know, but you'll need to ask Andrew at RComp as he
doesn't read this list.
I would recommend that you put all your addresses in your address book
and give them aliases, then only use the aliases in your distribution
lists. That means if someone changes his/her address you only have to
edit it in one place. It would be nice to have an option to add the
alias to an existing distlist.
Then if you delete an entry, you'd want an option to remove it from
any distribution lists that it might be in.
