Two techniques might be useful, if you haven't already thot of them:

  1-- In MPro, switch on Display>Columns>Articlenumber, then sort the 
affected inbox according to articlenumber (reverse).  That way, 
anything recently downloaded will be at the top of the list and might 
help you to spot the unwanted copies.

  2-- Set Hermes not to download, then use your webmail interface to 
deal with stuff on your server.  (Hmm, Hermes has a "view messages on 
server" facility, but I'm not familiar enough with it.)
