Peter, I think you need to look at this from a different point of view.

Somewhere in your Messenger there must be, or maybe was (but is no 
longer)
some place where there's a command that's meant to play your chosen 
sound.

I don't know where it would be (as I have never used the RO version of
Messenger) and I certainly don't know what it says.  (I suppose it's
possible - since your current version appears not to be doing what it 
used
to do - that you might need to look at a backup from when it did work.)


You need to find that place and tell us what it's currently set to.
