MessengerPro and IMAP client

Hi All,

Ive been experimenting with setting up the IMAP client to directly
interface with MS mail and have a few questions I'm hoping someone can
answer.

So I know that the IMAP port for the online Outlook/Hotmail/Office 365 is
Port 993 with either outlook.office365com or imap-mail.outlook.com but no
where in the setting up in the IMAP client does it say the port it uses or
how to change it so is it fixed and if so what port does it use.

Likewise for the SMTP element it is port 587 so where is that set.

Secondly encryption is SSL/TLS for IMAP incoming and StartTLS for the SMTP
outgoing element.

When setting up the server settings for !RemoteNB then I know the name of
the server but it then has a SSL/TLS field that states:

-Never use SLS/TLS
-Use SSL/TLS when available
-Require SSL/TLS
-Activate SSL/TLS on connection

As the incoming mail (IMAP) server requires TLS and the outgoing mail
(SMTP) requires StartTLS then what should be used in each?

It seems that putting Requires SSL/TLS works but should it be this or
should one have the - Activate SSL/TLS on connection setting.

Below is the text of what each does but again there is no ability to
define the port used.

The SSL/TLS protocol can be used to secure the connection to the IMAP
and/or SMTP servers against evasedropping. There are four choices for
the security which should be applied for each connection:

"Never use SSL/TLS
When this option is chosen SSL/TLS security will never be used.

Use SSL/TLS when available
When this option is chosen Messenger will connect to the server and
inquire as to whether or not SSL/TLS is supported - if it is then it
will be used, otherwise communication will carry on as normal.

Require SSL/TLS
When this option is chosen Messenger will connect to the server and
inquire as to whether or not SSL/TLS is supported - if it is then it
will be used, otherwise an error will be reported and the connection
will be closed.

Activate SSL/TLS on connection
when this option is chosen Messenger will connect to the server and
activate SSL/TLS before trying to communicate with the server - this
is normally used with older installations where the secure service
is run on a different port."

For now I have just kept the POP/SMTP set up until I know the full details
of the IMAP client set up and I assume that if I were to use the IMAP
client that the recent AcornSSL module with updated TLS would be used for
that as well.

Doug
