The repair process is itself in need of repair (had to say that!) due to a
bug which crept in during performance improvements to the indexing code. It
goes something like this: the index is corrupt, so it starts a repair, which
loads the index, which is corrupt, and so on.

V2.68.5 is the last known good version and can be used to get out of a
looping repair. I believe I do have a fix for this which I'm hoping to
release in the next week or so.
