Thanks. I would never have found that! I couldn't find a way of saving that
setting to the Search results box. I suppose that isn't possible, then?

Another problem is that a search will go only so far into the highlighted
Archive Groups list. In my case as far as the start of 'D' names.

Anyone any idea what the limit is to that? I am guessihg that is 512 characters
in the search groups writeable icon field. It doesn't tell you what has been
included and what not, nor even that the list is truncated, which has caught me
out a few times.

Would there be a better approach to this problem than to divide the list into
guessed chunks?

Also, I would perhaps have expected the Search menu to be a sub-menu off the
'Selection' option, because you have to select what you want to search first or
it won't search anything.

Thanks again. I am a a but further with the problem. To be fair, ny NewsDir is
6.5 Gbytes long at the moment and includes over 20 years of mail.
